PRODUCTION AREA
From plots averaging 80 years old, the vines used to produce our AOP Gigondas Rouge 2022 are mostly located around the family estate.
GRAPE VARIETIES
Our AOP Gigondas Rouge 2022 is a blend of five different grape varieties: Grenache for body, warmth, power, and balance; Syrah for color and preservation; and Mourvèdre, Cinsault, and Clairette, which add complexity to the blend.
GEOLOGY
The vines are planted on sandy molasses soil, on west-facing slopes.
VINIFICATION
Our AOP Gigondas Rouge 2022 is exclusively made from hand-harvested grapes. Sorting is done both in the vineyard and at the winery. The harvest is 100% destemmed, and fermentation is carried out with strict temperature control, between 25°C and 30°C. Traditional maceration with daily pump-overs and sometimes punching down at the end of alcoholic fermentation.
AGING
The grape varieties are blended after malolactic fermentation, then aged in concrete tanks for a minimum of 8 months before bottling.
