Température, carafe, verres : Le guide idéal pour servir nos vins
The Art of Serving Wine: Temperatures, Secrets, and Rituals of Domaine les Teyssonnières
Opening a bottle of wine is a pleasure, but serving it correctly is a skill that changes everything. A temperature that is too high, an unsuitable glass, or a lack of aeration can completely mask the subtleties of a great terroir. To help you elevate your tasting moments, the team at Domaine les Teyssonnières shares its technical advice and winemaker secrets to serve each of our red, white, and rosé wines to perfection
Gigondas Red (Classic & Cuvée Alexandre): Strength and Elegance
Our Gigondas reds are deep, structured wines, shaped by Grenache, Syrah, and our safre terroir. They need room to express themselves without being rushed.
The ideal temperature: 16°C to 17°C.
Should it be decanted? Yes, if it is young (under 5 years old). Decanting it for one hour will soften its tannins. If it is an older vintage (8 years and over), simply uncork it 2 hours in advance without decanting to avoid tiring its precious aromas.
Gigondas White: The Hidden Gem of the Dentelles
Our Gigondas White (driven by Clairette) is a magnificent curiosity of the appellation, renowned for its saline freshness and great complexity.
The ideal temperature: 11°C to 13°C.
The Winemaker's Advice: Above all, do not serve it ice-cold! A white wine that is too cold loses its entire aromatic spectrum and closes up.
Serving Tip: Avoid using an ice bucket filled only with ice cubes, which drops the temperature too aggressively. Instead, opt for a bucket with half water and half ice, or take the bottle out of the refrigerator 15 minutes before serving so it can release its notes of white flowers and white-fleshed stone fruits.
Our Rosé Wine: Freshness and Gastronomy
Far from mass-produced, characterless rosés, our estate's rosé boasts a true personality, making it ideal for both aperitifs and summer meals.
The ideal temperature: 10°C to 12°C.
Serving Tip: For this gourmet wine, use a classic white wine glass rather than a coupe or an overly wide glass. This helps concentrate its intense aromas of small red berries while maintaining all its freshness on the palate throughout the meal.
The Golden Rule for All Our Wines: The Choice of Glass
The glass is the wine's loudspeaker. For our cuvées, forget about glasses that are too small or square.
Opt instead for 'Tulip' shaped glasses (fairly wide at the base and narrowing toward the top). The wide base allows the wine to come into contact with oxygen to release its aromas, while the narrowed top concentrates the bouquet directly toward your nose.
Now, all that's left is to put it into practice! Find all our available cuvées directly on our online boutique to prepare for your next tasting
